I obtained my Bachelor's of Arts degree from the University of Vermont in 1994, majoring in Sociology.  In 1999, I obtained my Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from Champlain College.  I have been a litigation paralegal at Dinse Knapp & McAndrew since January 2000, and for the three years prior to that, I worked as a litigation file clerk while working toward my paralegal studies degree. My current work focuses on personal injury and commercial litigation cases.

I have been a VPO member since 1998, was Membership Committee Chair from 2001 through 2007, and President from 2005 to 2007.  I remain connected to Champlain College as an alumnus, and in my capacity as a former board member.  For many years, I have been the editor of Paralegal Focus, and the Co-Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee.  I remain aware of changing rules and issues that affect the paralegal profession, and the day-to-day work of a litigation paralegal.  I have also counseled student/associate members in searches for employment or internships, and have been contacted by Champlain College to answer prospective or current student questions about the profession or to assist with classroom assignments.

As Vice President of the Board, I shall, in the absence or disability of the President, perform all duties and exercise all powers incumbent upon the President and shall perform such other duties as the President or the Board of Directors may prescribe or delegate.

Specifically, the Vice President shall be responsible for assisting the Continuing Education Committee in planning the Annual Meeting, any Election Meeting and coordinating any speaker for said meeting, or at any other meetings at which a speaker is required. The Vice President, as a member of the Board, shall also assist the President when needed, can field general questions about the paralegal profession, and can help direct people to the appropriate Board member who could answer a question or concern regarding a specific aspect of the Vermont Paralegal Organization.
