The General Counsel and Chief of Staff at the University of Vermont is seeking an Executive Project Coordinator. The Executive Project Coordinator will oversee and implement complex administrative/business operations support to the VP for Legal Affairs & General Counsel/Chief of Staff to the President (VPGC/COS). Provide high-level analytical support in a wide range of areas. Lead project management activities. Prioritize and/or resolve complex issues and problems related to the executive task level of the office, using discretion relative to the confidential nature of assignments. Draft correspondence and other documents ranging from routine to complex and sensitive. Complete research, data analysis, and prepare related documentations and presentations both independently and in partnership with others.

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience supporting a senior level administrator/executive. Effective organizational, project management, data analysis & documentation skills and ability to operate in a complex environment required. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload. Writing and research skills, with the ability to disseminate and communicate complex and sensitive subject matter. Effective interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact with diverse individuals and groups at all organizational levels. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. Paralegal certification and experience in higher education desirable.

The law firm of McCormick, Fitzpatrick, Kasper & Burchard is looking to hire a claims and litigation paralegal. The paralegal will be responsible for tasks in substantive areas of workers’ compensation and general liability claims. The position will require working closely with attorneys on a variety of litigation matters, assisting with all aspects of case management, and will require knowledge of litigation procedures. Paralegal tasks will include: tracking and meeting deadlines; reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing a variety of legal documents and medical records; locating and interviewing witnesses; assistance with drafting and responding to discovery; and trial preparation. The paralegal should also be prepared to provide administrative support to the firm when/if needed.


  • Experience as a claims and litigation paralegal for a minimum of two years
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Adobe Acrobat, and various cloud-based file sharing programs
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, discretion, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member in an environment that is fast paced and demanding
  • Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills
  • Able to handle multiple demands with competence and a positive attitude


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Two years of related legal experience
