Working on Behalf of Paralegals throughout the State of Vermont
By way of background, I began my paralegal career in 1992 after graduating from Champlain College. I have had the pleasure of working in both large and small law firms, with my current position being at Lynch & Foley, P.C., a small general practice firm in Middlebury, Vermont. My primary focus is on all aspects of real estate matters, but I also dabble in matters involving criminal investigation, probate, trust, foreclosure, corporate, and civil litigation. In addition to my paralegal career, I co-taught the Real Property II class at Champlain College, and have served as a zoning administrator and a certified floodplain manager for two Vermont towns.
I have been a member of the VPO since 1993 and have served in many capacities over the years, including as President, Membership, Scholarship, Newsletter, and NFPA Primary. For a few years, I had the pleasure of serving the Region V member associations as the NFPA Region V Director and during that time made many lifelong friends. Currently, I am a member of the NFPA Marketing the Paralegal Profession Committee.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, baking and decorating cakes, and traveling on adventures to new and amazing places.
As Primary NFPA Representative, I am a liaison between the VPO membership and NFPA, the national organization with which the VPO is affiliated. I am charged with learning about issues facing paralegals via NFPA and sharing such information with our membership. By attending regional and national meetings, as well as participating in online discussions and telephone conferences, I am able to give the VPO a national voice. Likewise, I am responsible for casting votes at NFPA conferences, which are a reflection of the VPO membership's positions on topics that impact the paralegal profession.
