The Virtual World: Depositions and Trials with Robyn Sweet, CRP, RP, ACP and Lucia White, CP

Robyn is a litigation paralegal with Cleary Shahi & Aicher, PC and has been with that firm for over 11 years. She often attends depositions with her attorney and assists with the management of exhibits, including during virtual depositions.

Robyn obtained her CORE Registered Paralegal designation in October of 2016 through NFPA. She also graduated from Community College of Vermont with an Associates in Business in December of 2019 after which she obtained her PACE Registered Paralegal designation through NFPA in October of 2020. She then graduated from Northern Vermont University in May of 2021, and she also obtained her Advanced Certified Paralegal designation in e-Discovery through NALA in October of 2021.

She has been a member of the VPO since 2013 and has served on the VPO Board in the capacity of Membership Chair as well as presently the NFPA Secondary. She has also served the NFPA Board as Certification Auditor (presently), Marketing Coordinator (2016-2018) and Advertising Coordinator (2018-2019).

Lucia is a paralegal and mediator at the office of Nanci A. Smith, Esq. PLLC, a family law firm. She has been there since March of 2020. From March 2014 until February 2020, she worked as a paralegal and practice manager at a busy Burlington firm, working mostly on intellectual property and environmental matters. Prior to that, she worked in the field of child welfare in Austin, Texas.

Lucia has served as president of the Vermont Paralegal Organization, and she is currently the VPO’s Pro Bono Coordinator. She also volunteers as a paralegal with the legal clinic of Steps to End Domestic Violence in Burlington.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Masters of Science in Psychology, and a Paralegal Certificate. She has also undergone Advanced Mediation Training. Lucia obtained her NALA Certified Paralegal designation in 2011.

ALL SESSIONS LISTED BELOW WILL ONLY BE OFFERED VIA ZOOM, BUT WILL NOT BE RECORDED. The cost is $20 each session for members or $35 each session for nonmembers. Zoom login details will be emailed to registrants the day before the event is scheduled, provided payment has been received. Any attempts to contact the moderators may not be received if made after 11:45 a.m. the day of each event.
