Credential Renewals
Once earned, designations must be renewed through NFPA every two (2) years.
PACE®
Renewal Fee – Members $100; Non-members $125
To maintain the RP® credential, twelve (12) hours of continuing legal education is required every two (2) years. This must include at least two (2) hours in legal ethics or DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) courses. CLEs must be attended, or completed in the case of a webinar, within the two (2) years since the last renewal. Example: If the renewal date is 6/1/2020 then all CLEs must have been completed between 6/1/2018 and 6/1/2020.

PCCE™

To maintain the CRP™ credential, eight (8) hours of continuing legal education is required every two (2) years. This must include at least two (2) hours in legal ethics or DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) courses. CLEs must be attended, or completed in the case of a webinar, within the two (2) years since the last renewal. Example: If the renewal date is 6/1/2020 then all CLEs must have been completed between 6/1/2018 and 6/1/2020.

CLE Approval
NFPA has identified certain CLE providers that are automatically approved for credential renewals. Others require prior approval. Visit NFPA’s website for details [Continuing Legal Education (CLEs) | National Federation of Paralegal Associations (paralegals.org)].
NFPA now permits its member organizations, including the VPO, to approve CLE providers for its members. Effective April 5, 2021 the VPO adopted Guidelines for Third-Party CLE Approvals. Links to the Guidelines, Application form and Certification Flowchart are available below:
