VPO NFPA Secondary
Working on Behalf of Paralegals throughout the State of Vermont
My entire career has been working in the legal field, starting when I enlisted in the U.S. Army. Since then, I have worked in a small law firm in Northern Virginia, National Life Insurance Company (in the Law Department), Vermont Army National Guard (in the State Judge Advocate's Office) and upon military retirement, at the Vermont Attorney General's Office, currently in the Civil Litigation Division. I have worked in almost every facet of the law, other than criminal defense.
I earned an Associate's Degree in legal assisting from Northern Virginia Community College, a Bachelor's Degree in general studies from Norwich University, and Master of Science in Law Degree from Champlain College. Shortly thereafter, I achieved the PACE Registered Paralegal® designation.
I hope to bring my legal experience and enthusiasm for the field to other paralegals in Vermont. As the NFPA Secondary Representative, it is my responsibility to assist the NFPA Primary Representative with representing Vermont's interests at national and regional conferences, with reporting and sharing information from NFPA with our membership, and reporting information about the VPO's activities with NFPA. I would be responsible for casting votes at NFPA conferences, in the absence of the Primary Representative.
