VPO NFPA Secondary
Working on Behalf of Paralegals throughout the State of Vermont
I began my legal career in 2007 as a Legal Assistant at Langrock Sperry & Wool, and while employed there, I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies from Champlain College. After having representatives from the Vermont Paralegal Organization ("VPO") give a presentation in one of my legal classes, I became a member of the VPO. Since 2009 I have worked as a paralegal handling a range of matters within real estate law, including foreclosures, residential and commercial transactions, and commercial leases. As of August 1, 2016, I joined Stark Law, PLLC, where I specialize in residential real estate transactions.
Along the way, I achieved the PACE Registered Paralegal® designation through the National Federation of Paralegal Associations in October 2012. PACE® (Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam®) is a proficiency-based voluntary exam designed to test the competency level of experienced paralegals. Furthermore, I am also an Associate member of the Vermont Bar Association.
As the VPO's Paralegal Certification Ambassador, it is my goal to promote PACE® and the Paralegal CORE Competency Exam™ (PCCE™) to the membership through information posted to the website and provided in our newsletter, to be available to any member for questions regarding paralegal certification, and to provide support to those interested in sitting for PACE® or PCCE™.
As the NFPA Secondary Representative, it is my responsibility to assist the NFPA Primary Representative with representing Vermont's interests at national and regional conferences, with reporting and sharing information from NFPA with our membership, and reporting information about the VPO's activities with NFPA. I would be responsible for casting votes at NFPA conferences, in the absence of the Primary Representative.
