I am a Senior Risk Analyst for The University of Vermont where my focus is to identify and mitigate risks in academic, administrative and student activities, as well as in the overall operations at the University. In addition to my role at UVM and in my “spare” time, I do consulting work for Everen Specialty Ltd., a global insurer for energy companies throughout the world. Prior to coming to UVM, I worked for over 25 years in both large and small Vermont firms handling cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance defense litigation, and third-party insurance administration/insurance claims. I received my Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies/Pre-Law degree from Rivier University's then-ABA Accredited Paralegal Program. I obtained my PACE Registered Paralegal certification from the National Federation of Paralegal Associations in October of 2013, and my Associate in Claims designation from The Institutes in June of 2013. In addition to Ex-Officio President, I am the CLE Committee Co-Chair, Sponsorship Committee Chair, Professional Liaison, and Ethics Chair. As Continuing Legal Education Committee Co-Chair, I am charged with providing continuing legal education opportunities for the VPO membership in the form of seminars and training workshops sponsored by the VPO or other legal education providers. As Sponsorship Committee Chair, it is my goal to solicit and recruit partnerships with corporate and educational sponsors in order to provide educational and professional opportunities for VPO members. In the Professional Liaison role, I have spent the last several years championing equal access to justice and the pivotal role that paralegals can play in bridging that gap. |
